Rare Vintage Wood MARQUETRY Puzzle Box – 3-3/4″ x 3-3/4″ x 1/2″ This box is vintage, guessing Mid-Century but in great condition. It measures 3-3/4″ Across x 3-3/4″ front to back x 1/2″ Tall. There is minor gold wood weaving missing on front and back edges. Please be sure to view all of the pictures, it is easy to not see the missing areas. The intricate detailed wood inlay is absolutely gorgeous and fascinating. These boxes have been made for over 150 years and labor intensive to make, but a joy to the eyes. This hand made Marquetry art work on this box is so beautiful. It appears to be very close to an area in Japan known for it’s many species of woods, but I have no history to confirm the art work. The real trick is to figure out how to open, carefully. Please ask questions prior to buying. Thank you very much for looking at my item.
