This statue is made of plaster with a black lacquered finish, depicting the indigenous South American woman standing tall with her arms by her side. The base is inscribed “INDIA CATALINA – CARTAGENA, COLOMBIA”. It stands 17″ tall on a 4″ diameter round base, and weighs 3.25 lbs. India Catalina aided Spanish conquistador Pedro de Heredia, the founder of Cartagena, as an interpreter and intermediary in his conquest of Colombia in the 16th century.
